Yearlstone Vineyard leads South West sparkling wine challenge - according to a tasting held by the leading French wine magazine La Revue du Vins de France.
Two South West fizzes were rated in the Top 18 - according to La Revue. Yearlstone's Vintage Brut 2006 came 8th, and Camel Valley Pinot Noir Rose came 13th.
La Revue began with 50 samples, and narrowed those down to 18 for intensive tasting and notes.
Of Yearlstone's Vintage Brut, La Revue said: ""Crisp and lively, this pure Seyval Blanc gets its character from floral & leafy aromas. Fresh & fruity and not lacking personality.
Here is a beautiful English (British!) character and good value for money...." 18.50Euros.
